(After introducing Blechacz and playind the 2nd movement of concerto in F minor, the presenter said;)

"The second movement of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No 2 in F minor, the new recording from Polish Chopin Competition winner Rafał Blechacz played with such poisoned delicate refinement and elegant elasticity such a lovely sense of rubato impeccably accompanied by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Jerzy Semkow.

Yet after Blechacz’s first DG recording of Chopin’s Preludes there is a degree of understatement here especially in the outer movements of the both concertos that I wasn’t expecting.

So beautiful, carefully considered playing without the extremes of Krystian Zimerman’s extraordinary disk with his hand picked Polish Festival Orchestra but self facing the Chopin Concertos, I’m not sure. The recording itself is a little unhelpful on that score, its intimate focus on the piano the orchestra artificially distanced.

The first concerto was recorded live yet doesn’t really feel like it. There is no more sense of occasion in the second and in the slow movement Blechacz and solo basoon are uncomfortably at odds over the tempo but there is no doubt in Blechacz’s empathy with Chopin or his ability to tease the air with those lovely tweaks of the tempo. The Chopin Concertos, new from Deutsche Grammophon".

Frankly speaking, I found a few parts of this English that I cannot get idea.
