Chopin, Frédéric (1810-1849) Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op 11 (for piano and orchestra) Blechacz, Rafał (piano) Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam Semkow, Jerzy Recording: July 2009

One likes to pursue the development of the young Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz, also on the basis of his discography.
After the sonatas of Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart and the Chopin-Preludes, he now passes the next musical milestone with the two Chopin Concertos on his newest CD.

A Zürich concert review certifies his performance of the E minor Concerto,
“It sounded immaculate, in natural virtuosity.
While transforming the technical brilliance into aesthetic quality, Blechacz brings the innovative kick to almost glassy, crystalline Chopin's joint work with him”.

We pursue this career gladly further, which stands only at the beginning.
Also Frédéric Chopin wrote his two piano concertos at the beginning of his career. Dedicated to one of the most celebrated pianists of his time, Friedrich Kalkbrenner, the Piano Concerto in E minor was first performed on October 11, 1830 in Warsaw.
It was created timewise after the concerto in F minor, however this then turned into the "second" because it was published later.
For Chopin, it was a happy time. After concluding his study, he lived with his family in Warsaw, much composed, but participated also in discussions with the intellectual elite in the Polish capital. To his first love, Konstancja Gladkowska, the sensitive middle movements of both concertos were dedicated.
Back to the Larghetto of the E minor concerto Chopin wrote: "a thousand dear memories appear before my eyes."
