Rafał Blechacz's "Chopin Complete Preludes" diamond

↓ This is p.84 from February issue of BBC Music, which features Frédéric Chopin for his 200th birthday.

This page in its entirety is used for a review of CD "Chopin Complete Edition", a set of 17 CDs to cover all the pieces by Chopin;
played by Arrau, Vladimir & Vovka Ashkenazy, Blechacz, Bunin,Yundi Li,
Luisada, Pires, Pollini, Ugorski,Zilberstein, Zimerman a.o.

at first glance, I thought it is Rafał Blechacz's CD review! because of the picture, but it isn't...

About Blechacz, the reviewer writes,
"Of younger contributors, Rafał Blechacz plays the Preludes mellifluously, with classic poise,
a lovely tone quality and some personal, imaginative touches;"

About Chopin Complete Edition

By the way, did you know that Rafał's CD "Complete Preludes" attained the Diamond disc status in his country?

"płyta sprzedała się w „diamentowym” nakładzie!", which is the words often used for ad of his CDs on CD shops' websites,
(example from Empik shop site, meaning,
"CD sold in the copies of "diamond"!"
Dana reminded me of this recently.

According to Dana, in Poland, CD must sell 60000 copies to attain the status of Diamond, whereas, for Platinum 10000 and for Gold 5000.
The criteria is different among countries because of the difference of the size of population.

According to the Polish wikipedia for Platinum disc, Rafał Blechacz received Double Platinum Disc for his "Chopin Complete Preludes" and Single Platinum Disc for his "sonatas". Maybe there was an update to the status after this article was posted and Preludes is at the highest class of Diamond.

Deutsche Grammophon's Blechacz's site says that "Preludes" sold 60000 world-wide.
I expect the CD "Chopin Complete Preludes" will continue to sell this year of Chopin
and more people will be able to rejoice in
the "lovely tone quality and some personal, imaginative flair" presented by Rafał Blechacz.

"Viva Rafał and viva the new promising level of pianism today".
