Rafał Blechacz and his piano
Tuesday night at the Sala Verdi del Conservatorio

When in 2005 Rafał Blechacz won the Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the jury decided not to award the second prize, so great was the distance between the Polish pianist and the other competitors. This victory also represented the start of a career that has not known stops since then. Blechacz, who today is considered one of the greatest contemporary performers, is not a character unknown to the public of Milan, who already listened to his superb technique and his poetic pianism during the year dedicated to Chopin, 2010.

For the concert scheduled for Tuesday at the Conservatorio, there is a piece by Karol Szymanowski, one of the great inventors of the modern sound of the piano. A contemporary of Bartók and Alban Berg, Szymanowski was one of the most sensitive writers of the early twentieth century for the piano, in that his writing is a new wealth of harmonic and timbral shades.

Together with the world of liberty and symbolist by the Polish author, the concert includes the performance of music by two giants of the keyboard; Bach and Beethoven, Partita No.3 in A minor and the Sonata No. 7 in D major, respectively. Certainly, no one could miss Chopin's compositions, indeed Blechacz will offer to the public Ballade No.1 in G minor and 2 Polonaises op. 26.

Therefore, the program invites to perform a very suggestive path in the company of Blechacz , expanding between the old and the new, between Central Europe and Poland.

Another preview of the recital in Milan by as of March 5.
